January jobs worse than expected
Do you someone who has lost there job since the beginning of the year? So far 2010 is off to a negative job start.
The Labor Department reported today that there were 20,000 jobs lost in January. This was worse than the economists expectations of 15,000 jobs gained.
The Unemployment Rate came in lower to 9.7% from the estimates of 10.0%.
DECEMBER WORSE TOO
The revisions for December’s number was revised to -150,000 jobs lost from the -85,000 that was originally reported.
8.4 MILLION OUT OF WORK
Since the recession began back in December of 2007, there were 8.4 million job losses, worse than the 7.2 million originally reported.
