One item to add to your "think about" list is energy.

The home energy audit

A quick post for you this morning, albeit a potentially huge money saving idea.

If you have recently purchased or you are considering purchasing a home, one item to add to your “think about” list is energy.

If you think about how energy efficient the building / property is, then congratulations, you are thinking about your future expenses.

Written another way, the property is going to continue to cost you money long after you close escrow. One of those ongoing expenses will be energy, and how efficient the property is, will determine how expensive it is month after month.

THE HOME ENERGY AUDIT

A home energy audit is a great start in defending your future costs against unnecessary energy expenses. Simply put, the home energy audit will measure how much energy your building consumes and a good one will recommend what actions you can take in order to make your home more energy efficient.

The report will explain where your building is losing energy, especially with respect to your heating and cooling systems. And, the report can potentially save you a significant amount of money in the future if you take the time and money now to correct your home’s energy inefficiencies.
